Lord Michael Howard opens up about the loss of his father due to male breast cancer

Lord Michael Howard, previously known as Leader of the Conservative Party (2003-2005), lost his father in 1960s due to male breast cancer. Now, more than 50 years later, Lord Michael opens up to us and shares some of the memories.

Lord Michael was 24 years old when I found out that his father had breast cancer. It was back in 1966 and at that time, his father (aged 49 at the time) was given 6 months to live. A lot of the treatments were tried on him but sadly none of them worked.

“It was devastating,” the Lord added. To everyone who is experiencing anything like this or has their loved one with that condition, ”you have my deepest sympathy.”

His father was a shopkeeper and he had a great influence in Michael Howard’s early life, even 50 years on, the Lord mentioned how he still misses him.
